Hartley Grange Open House Event Success

3 homes sold at Hartley Grange on our successful open house weekend!

Our open house event was a roaring success last weekend in Westhoughton, with lots of interest in our contemporary ‘Livingstone’ house type: a beautiful 3 bedroom townhouse.

The properties benefit from shaker style kitchens, spotlights and elegant porcelanosa bathrooms. We’ve also included an MVHR system which helps to reduce energy consumption and lower heating bills, whilst maintaining good indoor air quality for health and wellness.

All of which empower homeowners to live more sustainably, in luxury settings! Visitors benefitted from access to on-site mortgage advice, from our financial advisors on the day and our sales consultant Jane did a brilliant job in guiding interested customers to purchasing their dream home.

This resulted in a sale on plots 30, 31 and 32, which means we have now sold up and completed on Hartley Grange! The Westhoughton site has proven an incredibly popular development; we’re pleased that our very first purchaser decided to purchase their second investment home, again on Hartley Grange, making a purchase on our final available home!

We’re very proud of this stunning development and hope that every customer adores their new build home, situated in this popular semi-rural retreat!

Doing our Bit to Help Out our Local Communities

Hollins Homes donated £2000 to two charities in December 2022. Both the RAFT Foundation and St Thomas’ Church offer a foodbank service for their local communities in need.

Food provision has been a particularly prevalent issue, due to the current cost of living crisis, which has sadly forced people to choose between heating and eating.

Here at Hollins, we are keen to do our bit to help out in the communities in which we operate. We are pleased to be supporting both the RAFT Foundation in Rossendale and St Thomas’ Church Food Bank in Garstang.

RAFT Foundation, Rossendale (Close to The Foothills development, Loveclough)

The RAFT Foundation (Resourceful Action for Transformation) is a charity crises foodbank, founded in 2012 to serve and support the community of Rossendale, Lancashire.

“Projects currently include the provision and delivery of an independent 100% volunteer lead and managed foodbank service collecting and delivering to clients’ homes.”

The RAFT Service provides individuals and families with a 7 day parcel containing foods such as fresh fruit and veg, fresh milk or long life products such as cereals, tea, coffee and household cleaning products. Food parcels accommodate allergies, food intolerances, special diets and are even adapted to clients who don’t have cooking facilities.

In response to the current cost of living crisis, RAFT launched a “Keep warm this Winter” project which provides people with blankets, socks, gloves and hats, in addition to a regular food parcel, to see people through the colder months.

St Thomas’ Church Food Bank, Garstang (Close to our Riverside Walk development, Garstang)

St Thomas’ Church is a C of E church in the centre of Garstang. The church has served the local community since 1770 and today helps people in need by operating a small local food bank which runs a regular weekly Food Club.

The Food bank provides a range of varied parcels which include tuna, tinned ham, jars, toilet rolls, wraps, bagels, noodles and apples, for those facing significant hardship.

Food packages help families in need and the elderly who may be isolated and find it difficult to access basic provisions.

Should you like to make a donation yourself, the church provides a plastic donations box outside the parish hall next to the Church. Here you can leave food and basic household items which will help to support those most in need.

Take advantage of the Outdoors from The Foothills

The Foothills is our luxury collection of eighty beautiful properties, situated in the heart of Lancashire. Each home has been carefully designed to complement the local heritage and breathtaking surrounding landscapes of the Rossendale Valley.

With all this fantastic outdoor space on your doorstep, we had to write up a few of the adventurous activities you can get up to, nestled in the backdrop of this stunning English countryside!

For those who enjoy a peaceful hike, we recommend a trip to Musbury Tor. With many alternative routes, the trek offers stunning views at the summit, overlooking the Alden Valley to the South and Musbury Valley to the North. To finish off the day, drop into the Robin Hood Inn pub for some post-walk refreshments. Treat yourself to a cosy log fire and good food; furry friends are welcome!

An equally interesting day can be enjoyed strolling along the banks of the River Ogden which begins on the moore of Haslingden Grane and feeds into the stunning Ogden reservoir, a perfect spot for a picnic with a view.

If you’d rather experience the local scenery on horseback, there are a range of excellent riding schools offering hacks in Rossendale.

Dam Top Riding Centre can be found, nestled in the Rossendale Valley, amongst 60 acres of fields for trail rides. Alternatively, Peers Clough Packhorses is a family run pony trekking centre that uses their locally bred Fell ponies, known for their gentle and sure-footed nature. The centre caters for a range of rides, from half an hour tasters to full riding holidays and accommodates all ages and abilities.

Those interested in water sports can take a trip to Rossendale Valley Sailing Club on the Clow Bridge Reservoir, just a 3 minute drive from The Foothills. Open since 1965, the Club offers a range of watersport activities including sailing taster sessions, wind surfing, fishing, paddle boarding and even hosts social events in its modern clubhouse! You can also take certificated training courses in powerboating, windsurfing and other sports to improve confidence.

Biking enthusiasts can take a trip to Lee Quarry; a well-known mountain bike trail found nestled in Rossendale’s ‘Valley of Stone’. Originally a working quarry, Lancashire council transformed the disused site into purpose built biking trails which are free to use. Lee Quarry is also open to walkers and runners.

Whatever your sport of choice, being situated at The Foothills will support you to follow your passions.

And with plenty of options for beginners and learners, why not try something new?
